Recent OMNI~View TMS deployment in Rogers, MN
increased client’s control of assets and streamlined front
and back office processes related to trailer
marketing. GTM had already made an investment in an
electronic trailer marketing solution before we began our
discussions. But, their first program did not achieve the potential of an integrated
trailer marketing solution. The system was
complicated and hard to use. In the end, they
salvaged their investment by using the program to
print leases. They continued to perform other tasks
using an assortment of manual systems: folders, white
boards, spreadsheets, work sheets etc.
Once, the Office
Manager and Rental Manager saved their trailer inventory
spreadsheet on different drives without discovering it for
several weeks. Entries got out of synch. It took hours to re-create an accurate set of data.
From the beginning, we
were told the rental team was not "computer
literate". There was real skepticism that an electronic solution would benefit GTM
especially in light of their first experience.
Within two weeks of
introducing OMNI~View,
four manual systems were replaced: the white
board, spreadsheet, maintenance folders, and driver
logs. Moreover, billing was automated, improving
accuracy and cash flow.
The owner agreed that it was easy to find the equipment
using OMNI~View™ while clients were still on the phone.
They
began weekly cycle inventories
eliminating lost billing. And, they divided trailer
parking areas into zones
improving equipment
control.
