Develop the Technology Component of Your Strategic Business Plan

"Technology Audit":

We're excited about working with you to develop a technology strategy that is appropriate for your business and industry.

Like an energy audit of your home, our technology audit is designed to highlight areas where your system is effective, efficient and secure.  We also highlight areas where hardware/software, business processes, applications and technology deployments can be initiated to cut costs and achieve a competitive advantage.

Our audit covers three inter-related parts of your business:

  • Network (Inventory, Health & Sufficiency)
  • Business Processes and Applications (Efficiency, Cost & Quality)
  • Technology Deployments (Measure Against Internal Needs & Competition)

"It used to be that there were three keys to business success, good financing, good management and a good plan.  These days there's a fourth requirement - good technology.  You can have a top-notch staff, a key to the bank vault, a blueprint so solid they teach it at business schools, but if your company lags behind on the technology curve, your competition will treat you like snack food!" - Smart Business Magazine

It Starts With You

Our audit begins with a consultation where we sit down with you to create a shared vision of your technology goals.  You may see bottlenecks in your current system adversely affecting cost and quality.  You may be responding to negative client feedback or new competition threatening your piece of the pie.

Deep down you know there's a better way.  Whether you are acting to put out a fire, retain "at risk" business, or leave the competition in the dust, we have the knowledge, skills and business savvy to guide your technology investments and decisions to pay dividends in the long run.

Focus on your core business.  Use Incisive as a resource to research issues and develop a list of options to choose from.  We'll give you clear choices for cost-effective solutions at different price points that meet your requirements.  Avoid the cost of trial and error and deploy answers that work.

What The Audit Covers

  1. Invite us in to review and inventory your hardware and operating systems.  We'll evaluate your computing environment and suggest a plan for updating Servers, PCs, O/S, Backup Devices etc.  Using an "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" approach, this exercise is valuable because it lists weaker network components inching towards obsolescence and more costly or unavailable support and maintenance.  A recent example are External Travan Tape Backup systems that work with Windows 2000 Operating Systems but not with Windows XP or Windows 2003.  If you're planning an upgrade, you'll want to understand all of the potential impacts (cost implications) before acting. Derivative to our review, are checks confirming you are running the latest versions of IE as well as the latest Service Packs.
  2. Invite us in to review your business processes and application software.  Over the years, our experts have provided consulting services to Fortune 500 companies including Georgia Pacific, Hub Group, Hussmann, Magazine Distributors, Patterson Dental, and Tropicana etc.  We focus on inefficient practices like storing data in multiple systems, double entry, paper processes etc and make recommendations for improvement.  During analysis, we list problems and  benefits with an estimate of the money that could be saved by overcoming problems and achieving benefits.  The result is a list of potential initiatives in order of priority.
  3. The last part of our audit evaluates your deployed technology in the context of your stated objectives, competition, and the sea of currently available technology tools.  Frequently, emerging technology is resisted because it is complex and not well understood.  Incisive will explain the power and benefits of new technology with easy to grasp examples.  We'll help you respond to the needs of your clients, vendors and employees.

Ask about our Technology Audit.  We'll assist you in base-lining your current hardware, operating systems, business processes, and technology in the context of your needs.

Deliverables

Deliverables include a blueprint for moving ahead covering the audit areas discussed with a prioritized list of initiatives and their related financial impacts.  We'll make recommendations for more stable, effective networks, more efficient processes and beneficial technology, but only if it saves you money and/or results in a competitive advantage.  Are you wasting money on ineffective systems, software and/or processes?  We'll help you find out.
