Web
Application Development
When
you think about Web Applications, you probably think about
e-commerce sites with catalogues and shopping carts.
You might think that since you're not Amazon.com, the ideas
aren't relevant. The truth is
new technologies including XML (eXtensible Markup Language)
and Microsoft's .NET Framework can mean big benefits for
small business. As with any new, complex technology,
it takes time for the ideas to be accepted.
For
example, interactive webs can be used to strengthen
communication between your organization and your clients,
vendors and employees. Browser based applications
sharing information across the Internet can be customized
for your industry and business. Move beyond brochure
webs to functional, interactive webs and let your business
partners access information via safe, secure
connections. By offering your clients and vendors
convenient data access, you'll differentiate your firm from
the competition and reduce your staff's communications
overhead.
We
specialize in developing Web Applications that are
appropriate for you and your business and industry.
The possibilities are endless. Let Incisive provide you
with the information and advice you need to take full advantage of
newly available Web Tools.
See some
examples below.
Mobile
Sales Force
One
of our clients asked for help in enabling their
outside sales force to access the corporate database
remotely. They had already deployed an in-house solution
that failed because of poor performance. We proposed a
more efficient Web based solution. We eliminated performance
issues, enhanced security and gave sales reps
corporate database access via their Web browsers.
Key features:
- All processing took
place on the corporate side of the connection
- Only results and
requests (not proprietary corporate data) traveled over
the Internet
- Laptops in the field needed
only Web Browsers to support data
exchange
- Changes and enhancements
could be made "on the fly" since the
processing layer of the application resided in one place
at the corporate location (not on laptops spread out
across the country)
The low cost of
connectivity is making secure, remote access to company databases
more affordable for small business. Contact us to

Efficiency,
Compliance
and Primary Mission Support
Another
client asked for a solution to streamline their
verification process for outside doctors ordering procedures
at their facility. Verification required a check of
the doctor's UPIN number and state license and federal
sanctions status for compliance with Medicare. Failure meant
risking loss of Medicare reimbursements and potentially a
fine for submitting fraudulent claims. Each time a
procedure was requested by an outside doctor, frontline
caregivers were required to visit three (3) Web sites for
info. They made notes on printed copies of the web pages and
forwarded them to their medical records department for
filing. Doctors ordering multiple tests on
the same patient from different departments on the same day were checked out
multiple times.
Incisive
proposed a way to automatically send requests for UPIN and
status info to the Internet using a Web Application with one
mouse click. Our program collected the doctor's info
in a database accessible to all departments. We made
the setup configurable so that data from a recent search
could be flagged as current based on user-defined rules. All of the data required by Medicare was
captured and stored in a database for easy retrieval in the
event of an audit.
The
new system enabled the hospital to comply with Medicare's
rules while permitting staff to focus more time and
attention on patient care.
